Celebrate the Holidays with the library

Happy Holidays from your hometown library, the Aurora Public Library District! Looking for something fun to add to your holiday calendar? There will be a little of the library sprinkled in these special occasions across Southern Dearborn County, thanks to the Aurora Public Library District Foundation! Check it out!

On Saturday, December 2nd, visit the Moores Hill Winter Walk in downtown Moores Hill, where a special guest may be in attendance! Who could it be? Do I hear jingle bells and the hooves of reindeer? Visit us on Saturday, December 2nd at Dillsboro’s yearly holiday festival, the Dillsboro Hometown Christmas, on the Dillsboro lawn to enter in a raffle prize, including a Reindeer Ridge visit, courtesy of APLD! For more information, follow the Dillsboro Main Street Facebook page.

Special Holiday Storytime!

Sugar cookies, frosting, sprinkles, PJs, robes, and slippers, oh my! Children will not want to miss our special storytimes on Saturday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. located at our Dillsboro Library Branch, and Tuesday, December 20th at 6:00 p.m. at our Aurora Library Branch. “Cookies for Santa” is our agenda for both of these dates. Stories and activities will feature children decorating two cookies; one for themselves to enjoy and then one to keep and put out for Santa on his special night. Don’t worry, we have a special box to keep that special cookie for you know who!

We cannot wait to see you there! Please wear your coziest, warmest, snuggliest pajamas and get ready to read and eat!

Meet Santa’s Reindeer!

“What to my wondering eyes did appear but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer with a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment he must be Saint Nick.”

Have you ever seen Santa’s reindeer up close? Well, now is your chance! Santa’s reindeer are making their way to Aurora, Indiana this year for a test run of the sleigh and will be meeting kids just like you at the Aurora Lions Club on December 4th and 18th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Take pictures, pet and feed the reindeer, and maybe get a glimpse of Santa yourself! So be on your best behavior, because you don’t want to be put on the naughty list right before Christmas!
