Chapter Chat Reads Escape at 10,000 Feet!

Chapter Chat Meets in November

Chapter Chat is back with a little twist.

Each week a kid can pick up each month’s book with interactive elements that go along with the story. As you read, there are items in the book bag that have page numbers on them and when you reach that page then you will open that item.

November’s book is Escape at 10,000 Feet: DB Cooper and the Missing Money by Tom Sullivan. We will be meeting at the Dillsboro Public Library on November 21st at 3:30 pm (after school) and at the Aurora Public Library on November 29th at 3:30 pm.

Books about silly letters, learning letters, colorful letters, big letters, and little letters will have you ready to build, create, search, and do a little Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! How many books can you read that have letters in them?

Storytimes are at the Aurora Public Library on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 am and at the Dillsboro Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am. Families of all ages are welcome to attend!

We can’t wait to see you all there, ready to read, craft, dance, and sing with us!

April Storytimes are HERE!

Spring is in the air and you know what that brings… baby animals! Our story times will be featuring cuteness overload of baby farm animals. Who can’t resist a fluffy bunny, or those cute little ducklings swimming on the pond? Wobbly legs are fun to watch as a colt is trying to walk and those adorable little pink noses of baby pigs. Your kiddos will be squealing with delight at all the baby animal activities we have planned.

Earth Day will also play a big part of our April story times as well. Take a trip through nature with Miss Tammy and the fun stories she has picked out for you!

We can’t wait to see all of those wiggly, squirming, smiling faces at our weekly story times. Happy Spring!

LEGO® Club Kickoff!

Whether you’re a future architect or you just like to get creative, our new LEGO Club is the place to be!

Building with Legos is an effective way to stimulate the brain while also having fun! Each month we will have a different theme for kids to build. Feel free to work together with friends or on your own.

We will be meeting at the Aurora Public Library on January 10th at 5:00 pm. Snacks, drinks, and LEGOs will be provided. The only thing you have to bring is your creativity! We can’t wait to see what you build.

January Storytimes

Welcome, 2023!
Our storytime for children in January will start off with fun activities using the numbers in 2023. What do the words hibernation, arctic, and nocturnal all have in common? Why, animals of course! We cannot forget about snow, ice, and the color white to fit into our January storytimes also. There is going to be SNOW much fun! We hope you don’t miss out on this! There may be a surprise author study also on 2 special dates!
We hope to see all the kiddos at our storytime! Happy New Year!
January storytime has all kinds of cold-themed activities. We will start off the first week of January by celebrating our new year and incorporating the numbers 2, 0, 2, and 3 into our storytime. Books with numbers in their titles will be featured this week as well as New Year books… maybe books that just came out! Kids will enjoy making party poppers as well as participating in challenges involving building with 2 or 3 items. Imaginations will soar in this first-week challenge.
Happy New Year to everyone and we look forward to seeing you at our storytimes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Dillsboro Public Library and Wednesdays and Fridays at the Aurora Public Library at 10:30 am!

January’s Chapter Chat

So you love reading, but have no one to gush about books with… Look no further! The Aurora Public Library has the answer for you: The Chapter Chat Book Club at the Aurora Public Library, meeting every month to talk books with kids just like you.

In January, Chapter Chatters are reading The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani, now a hit Netflix Motion Picture! Of course, the book is always better than the movie, but see for yourself by checking out your book today at the Aurora Public Library!

With her glass slippers and devotion to good deeds, Sophie knows she’ll earn top marks at the School for Good and join the ranks of past students like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Snow White. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her shapeless black frocks and wicked black cat, seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil.

The two girls soon find their fortunes reversed—Sophie’s dumped in the School for Evil to take Uglification, Death Curses, and Henchmen Training, while Agatha finds herself in the School for Good, thrust among handsome princes and fair maidens for classes in Princess Etiquette and Animal Communication.

But what if the mistake is actually the first clue to discovering who Sophie and Agatha really are?

We are meeting in January at the Dillsboro Public Library on January 14th at 10:30 am and at Aurora Public Library on January 18th at 4:00 pm. Snacks, drinks, and fun, themed activities will be provided.

Registration is recommended for everyone ages 9 and up. You can pick up your book at either location. We look forward to seeing you there!
