December’s book is Willodean by Kathrine Applegate.
Willodeen, an eleven-year-old girl, loves all animals, but her favorites are the weird creatures known as “screechers,” who are among the least endearing in the world. Although the residents of Perchance regard the creatures as pests or even monsters, Willodeen thinks they play an important part in the intricate natural system. But lately, nature has become very agitated, not a single Hummingbear has made it back to Perchance this year, and nobody knows why. Willodeen is resolved to speak out for the animals she loves and maybe even solve the mystery of the disappearing hummingbears when a homemade birthday gift brings unexpected magic to her and her new buddy, Connor.
Bags can be picked up at Aurora at the lower level desk and at Dillsboro.
Snacks and Drinks will be provided.
This program is open to children ages 7-12. Please register in advance by calling us at 812-926-0646 or visiting the Aurora or Dillsboro Public Libraries to speak to a librarian
