Polar Bears Take Over the Library!

Storytime Saturday at the Dillsboro Public Library on Saturday, December 2nd will feature a fun theme of talented swimmers who paddle with their front paws, a coat of fur that does not soak up water, and a love for snow and VERY cold weather. What could it be? A friendly polar bear is visiting the library to say hello, make some COOL crafts, and read a story or two with you! Come join us for this amazing animal storytime at the Dillsboro Library on December 2nd at 2 pm. Families of all ages are welcome!

Dreaming of a White Christmas?

As Clark Griswold once said, “We’re gonna have the hap- hap- happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny Kaye!” Well, close enough. Watch everyone’s favorite Christmas movie, White Christmas, this holiday season at the Depot! We will be starting our showing at the Old Aurora Train Depot on December 14th at 5:30 pm. Dress in your favorite ugly sweater or comfiest Christmas jammies for the occasion if you’d like. Light holiday treats will be provided. This program is open to all ages and all members of the family, from great-grandparents to newborns!

November Storytimes

Fall, fall, and more fall in November has our kids exploring things that fall. What do fall leaves, pumpkins, turkeys and Humpty Dumpty have in common? They all fall down in this month’s storytimes. Bring your kiddos!

Storytimes are open to families of all ages and take place at the Dillsboro Public Library Tuesday and Thursday and at the Aurora Public Library Wednesday and Friday. All storytimes start at 10:30 am.

Discover your hometown through the lens of a world before humankind with the Archaeological Research Institute! Bring the whole family to learn about the stories the river valley’s land can tell us and the mysteries that hide in the land that surrounds us. Then, put your thinking caps on and participate in some archaeological investigations to solve the mysteries of Ancient Aurora and what roamed the land before us!

This program will take place at the Local History Library @ The Depot on September 13th at 3:30 pm. Families of all ages are welcome to attend, though most subject matter and activities will be aimed at elementary-age children. Have any questions?
