its start with the MaclureLibrary, which was a collection of books given to each county in Indiana in the late 1800s and became the foundation for the Aurora Public Library Association. The APL Association was housed in a local jewelry store.<\/p><p>In 1901, the Aurora Public Library Association folded into the Aurora Public Library with Alex B. Patterson, J. R. Houston, and J. A. Riddell conducting the first meeting of the Board of Library Directors at the store of James Riddell on Nov 1, 1901.\u00a0 During this meeting they organized by electing president, secretary and treasurer.\u00a0<\/p><p>J R Houston was selected as a &#8220;committee&#8221; to confer with the State Librarian and Miss Hoagland, the State Library organizer, to explore modern methods of Library organization and classification.\u00a0 Their efforts led to a public opening early in 1902.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-05b575d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"05b575d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-cc8ab89\" data-id=\"cc8ab89\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8653f93 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8653f93\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Our Little Library<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2fea014 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2fea014\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Georgiana Sutton was a well-known and respected woman of Aurora.&nbsp; She was very intelligent and well-traveled.&nbsp; She was a great lover of books and reading. Her father Dr. George Sutton was a famous medical doctor of his time who lived up on Sutton Hill.&nbsp; &nbsp;Georgiana died on January 18, 1910, bequeathing $10,000 for a building be erected to house the library. Her brother, Dr. H. H. Sutton oversaw the project, dedicating it to the memory of her mother and father, Mrs. and Dr. George Sutton.&nbsp;<\/p><p>In 1913, Dr. H. H.
