SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Just as traditional first aid and CPR training prepares you to help someone having a medical emergency, Mental Health First Aid prepares you to help someone having a mental health or substance abuse emergency stay safe and get transitioned to professional help.  Thanks to a grant from SAMHSA, One Community One Family will be able to offer this training from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for free to our patrons.  Lunch will be provided during the training by the Aurora Library District Foundation. \nThose who complete the training receive a certification that is valid for three years and can be used to enhance your resume or LinkedIn profile.  For more information on the value of Mental Health First Aid training, please see the official website at [https://mentalhealthfirstaid.org/individuals/take-mhfa/]. \nThere is about 2 hours of online pre-work to do before attending the program.  Registrants will receive information on this work about two weeks prior to the program.  Computer access will be available at the Aurora Public Library, Dillsboro Public Library, or Local History Library @ The Depot for those who need it. \nRegister by completing the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeXzpa4LnUGzpgUClQjOS0B_wbl-l82tp63bZyTBJ5UPQPOKQ/viewform \n
