Libraries Rock! with Penguins

Cool off at the Dillsboro Public Library on Monday, July 16 at 2 p.m. and meet a live African penguin, sponsored by the Newport Aquarium! Do you want a penguin to waddle around you? Do you wonder why African penguins are endangered? Would you like to learn more about them? Enjoy a live penguin encounter and stay for a penguin craft and a cool treat! No registration is required for this program!

Temporary Building Closure

The Dillsboro Public Library will be closed from Monday, July 23rd through Wednesday, July 25th for the installation of our new air conditioning unit. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope that you will be able to come to the Aurora Public Library during this time. The Dillsboro book drop will still be in operation and will be checked daily. You may also call the Aurora Public Library at 812-926-0646 to renew any items on your account.

The Dillsboro Open House that was previously scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th has been rescheduled for Friday, July 20th from 1-2 pm. Stop by on the 20th to view pictures from all our Libraries Rock programs. July 20th at 2 pm will also be the last time to enter the prize drawing at the Dillsboro Branch. The Aurora Public Library and Local History Library will be accepting prize entry slips until 2 pm on Wednesday, July 25th.

Libraries Rock! Hexbugs Galore

Engineer an obstacle course for your hexbug that is better than your competitors’. Can your hexbug beat the others in an obstacle course that you and your friends designed? Come find out whose course is the best! Join us at the Aurora Public Library on Friday, July 13 at 2 p.m. for Hexbugs Galore, a Family Friday program! No registration is required, so bring your whole family and compete against each other!

Libraries Rock! with Craig Brenner

The Dillsboro Public Library will be rocking with Craig Brenner on Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. Craig is a pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher from Bloomington, Indiana. He specializes in jazz, blues, and boogie woogie. Come listen to some rocking piano music and just try to keep your feet from tapping! No registration is required for this program.
