Are you looking for fun activities for your family during the summer months? Are you eager to keep your kids reading during their school break? The Aurora Public Library District will be the place to be during June and July because “Libraries Rock!” We will have lots of activities and programs for ages 0-100 and, as always, all of our programs are free to members of our community!
The Library District will be closed on Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day, but beginning on May 29th, you can stop by any of our branches to get information about all the upcoming fun. Be sure to also pick up a bag and a “I Love Reading” bracelet. Kids and teens will find a free book inside their bags, with 3 different choices of books to appeal to all ages and reading abilities.
There will be three days in June and July when you could win a small prize for being one of the first 50 people to enter the library with your bracelet!
All kids enjoy listening to stories, so check out one of our three weekly Story Hour times, beginning on June 5th and June 6th. The Dillsboro Story Hour will be on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and the Aurora times will be on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Be sure to check your calendar, because there are lots of other family programs as well.
Some of the things you can look forward to are: music and play for kids with Jim Gill, a teen Zumba class, digging for dinosaur bones with presenters from the Cincinnati Museum Center, Hexbugs, Jazz pianist Craig Brenner, and a special guest from the Newport Aquarium. There are lots of other programs as well! You’ll need to pick up a calendar at the Library and keep checking our web page, so you don’t miss anything.
We’ll wind down the Summer Reading Program on July 24th and 25th with an Open House at each location, concluding with the drawing of winners for our summer prizes. For books, activities, crafts, and music, make the Aurora Public Library District your first stop for learning and entertainment!
