The Aurora Public Library District will be continuing to reach out to the Moores Hill community during our Summer Reading Program 2016. We will be offering 4 summer programs in the town of Moores Hill and are happy to announce a new partnership with the Moores Hill Senior Center for 2 of those events.
The Senior Center will be hosting the Library District for 2 special Storytimes that will be for all ages – little ones through grandparents. The first Moores Hill Storytime will be on Friday, June 17th and will feature a Father’s Day theme. The program will begin at noon and is free. We will also be offering a 4th of July Storytime at the Moores Hill Senior Center on Friday, July 1st. Come wearing red, white and blue and help us celebrate our country’s birthday starting at noon!
Saturday, June 25th brings a Family Fun Day in the Moores Hill Park. Meet under the picnic shelter at 11 AM for stories and a craft, followed by some outside games.
The final Moores Hill Summer Program will be on Thursday, July 21st and will feature cartoon artist Steve Harpster. Come prepared to draw along as Steve creates weird and wonderful “Prehysterical Beasts.” This will be lots of fun for everyone. The program will begin at 11 AM at Carnegie Hall in Moores Hill, but if you can’t make it in the morning, Steve will repeat the program at the Dillsboro Public Library at 1 PM. Steve recently performed at the Aurora Elementary School and was a smash hit, so don’t pass this up!
